Effective July 1, 2024. This law grants Florida residents rights over their personal data and imposes specific obligations on businesses that act as data controllers or processors. Key requirements include the right for consumers to access, delete, and correct their data, opt-out of targeted advertising or the sale of their data, and opt-out of voice/facial recognition data collection. The FDBR primarily targets for-profit entities meeting a significant revenue threshold and engaging in certain data-related activities, though all for-profit entities collecting data must obtain consent before selling sensitive personal data.
